POLICY
First
State Bank, FSB Investment Services, and Town & Country Insurance,
recognize and respect our responsibility to protect our customers private
information. The success of a financial institution like ours depends
heavily on the level of trust and confidence it enjoys with its depositors and
shareholders. In continuing our commitment to provide quality service to
our customers, First State Bank has adopted the following privacy statement for
officers, directors and employees. This privacy statement applies to
individuals, and First State Bank reserves the right to amend it at any
time.
We value
your trust and understand that keeping your information secure is one of our
most important responsibilities. You should be confident that we will not
sell or share our customers or former customers confidential
information with any company or individual, except as permitted by
law.
We collect,
use and retain information about our customers only where we reasonably believe
it would be useful in administering our business, and providing products,
services, and other opportunities to our customers. We collect and retain
information only for specific business purposes and will tell you why we are
collecting and retaining it upon your request. We use information to
protect and administer our customers records, accounts, and funds; to
comply with certain laws and regulations; to help design or improve our
products and services; and to understand your financial needs and provide you
quality products and outstanding services.
We collect
nonpublic personal information about you from the following
sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or
other forms
- Information about your transactions with us, our
affiliates, or others; and
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting
agency.
Our
internal staff training stresses the importance of maintaining the
confidentiality of our customer information. Employees should never
discuss confidential customer information unless it is required to transact
proper bank business. Any violation of the bank's Privacy Policy would
result in appropriate disciplinary action. We maintain physical,
electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to
guard your nonpublic personal information. The information collected will
be used to comply with certain laws and regulations that may apply to us, and
assist in meeting your financial needs.
We have
established procedures to ensure customer information will be collected and
maintained as accurately and completely as possible. If you notify us
that information is inaccurate, we will make corrections in a timely manner.
The Bank,
or any of our affiliates, will never sell or share your nonpublic personal
information to any third party marketers. We will use your information
only for a business necessity or as required by law. Please be assured
that we will never provide medical information that we obtain in insurance
applications to any affiliate or associate without a business need. The

our web site remain anonymous. We do not collect personal identifying
information about our site users, unless you choose to provide such information
to us. Standard software is used to collect and store only the following
non-identifying information about our visitors:

internet

date and time you access our site

internet address of the web site from which you linked directly to our
site
If you
submit an online application, it will be transmitted over a secure connection
using encryption, and will alert you to this fact. Many commercial web
sites use a technology called cookies to provide you with tailored
information from their web site. First State Banks web site does
not use cookie technology. We make no attempts to identify an
individual unless illegal behavior is suspected.
Visitors
may elect to provide us with personal information via e-mail. If you send
e-mail to us please remember that e-mail is not necessarily secure against
interception. If your e-mail contains information that is very sensitive
or includes personal information such as account numbers, credit card numbers
or your social security number, you may wish to consider sending this
information to us in another way.
First State
Banks website is directed to a general audience. We do not
knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children on our
site.
